J. J, who finished last year’s record breaking season as the Tribe’s top team point scorer, has been elected to serve as co-captain of this year’s squad. He has earned USA Gymnastics Collegiate All-American honors in the all-around and on the high bar and currently ranks third in the all-around, fourth on the rings and high bar, and tenth on the parallel bars in William and Mary’s all-time record books... Academically, J. J has received a Provost Award from W&M in addition to being selected to the College Gymnastics Association’s All-American Scholar-Athlete second team on three occasions…As a freshman, J. J. was selected the ECAC Rookie of the Year and has gone on to earn All-ECAC honors in the all-around and on the parallel bars while being a mainstay of the Tribe team that won the 2014 ECAC Championship and placed 12th and the NCAA Championships…There is always a great atmosphere in the gym when J. J. is present as his enthusiasm and excitement for gymnastics and life in general is infectious…. In Junior Olympic competition, he competed for the Capital National Gymnastics Training Center while being coached by Andre Shamenko, Steve Scheinmaan, and Carlos Vasquez…He is the son of Jim and Debra Jindra and will graduate with a degree in finance with an accounting concentration.
