Ray Eady joined William & Mary Athletics as the Director of Basketball Performance in 2019 and was promoted to Director of Sports Performance in 2025.

He came to Williamsburg with 13 years of experience at the collegiate level spending time at the University of Wisconsin (2008-15), the University of Akron (2004-08), Northeastern University (2003-04) and Holy Cross (2002-03).
 
Eady spent seven years in the University of Wisconsin Sports Performance Department. He served as the head strength and conditioning coach for women’s basketball from 2008-2015 and was the lead assistant strength and conditioning coach for men’s basketball during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. The Badgers advanced to the Final Four during both his seasons with the men’s program, including an appearance in the 2015 national title game. On the women’s side, the Badgers advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 and had a pair of WNIT appearances in 2009 and 2011.
 
During his time at Wisconsin, he was responsible for developing strength and conditioning programs for the women’s basketball program and assisting on the men’s side. Eady was involved in providing department services such as Max V02 Testing, FMS Assessment, Fatigue Monitoring/Data Collection, and Body Composition Testing. He managed general operations of the Kohl Center Weight Room and worked with the sports nutritionist to provide nutrition education to student-athletes. His responsibilities also included working with the women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s golf and women’s tennis programs.
 
Eady spent four years as the head strength and conditioning coach for men’s and women’s basketball at Akron. He also worked with softball, soccer, tennis, and baseball program as well as assisting with the Zips Football team. Eady also supervised graduate assistants, student assistants, and volunteer coaches at Akron. During his four seasons with the Zips, the men’s program averaged 23 wins per season and 12 in Mid-American Conference plays. Akron tied the school record for wins (26) and won the MAC East Division title in 2007. The Zips advanced to NIT In both 2006 and 2008. He also received his master’s degree in sports exercise physiology and adult fitness from Akron.
 
In 2003-04 season, Eady was the head strength and conditioning coach for men’s and women’s basketball at Northeastern. He also earned his MBA during his time in Boston. His first collegiate experience as was as an intern at Holy Cross in 2002-03.
 
Eady received training in Asian Bodywork and Therapeutic Massage from the East-West Healing Arts Institute Inc., in Madison, Wis. He accumulated 800 classroom hours in Eastern and Western Massage Theory and Techniques and 158 hours of clinical practice. Eady spent a year (2018-19) at Integration Bodywork LLC in Madison as a sport manual therapist and was a manual therapist at the East-West Healing Arts Institute Massage and Acupuncture Clinic in Madison from 2016-18. Eady was a class lecturer in the Wisconsin Kinesiology and Exercise Science Department from 2015-18.
 
Eady is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He is also certified by USA Weightlifting as a Club Coach and is a licensed massage therapist.
