Joe Dowell is in his third year with the William & Mary Football program having started as a graduate intern before being promoted to Director of Football Operations.
Dowell reports directly to Bill Cole, the Assistant Athletics Director of Football Operations, and coordinates team logistics for the program. Among his primary responsibilities are traveling ahead of the team on away games, arranging post-game catering, and fulfilling other duties that arise for the program. He also plays an integral role in recruiting from on-campus visits to scouting.
In addition to his work with Tribe Football, Dowell held two NFL internships with the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hailing from Rappahannock, Virginia, Dowell graduated from William & Mary in 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Government. He also earned a Master’s of Education from William & Mary in Higher Education Policy, Planning & Leadership in 2023.
