AJ Woodard enters his first season as an offensive quality control assistant on W&M’s staff after completing his collegiate playing career with the Tribe in 2025.
Woodard joined the coaching staff last spring and assists with the offense, primarily working with the offensive line, as well as special teams and gameday operations.
The Newport News, Va., native appeared in 15 games during his career as an offensive lineman, while he also contributed on special teams and as a fullback. During his freshman season in 2022, W&M equaled a program record for wins (11) en route to securing a share of the CAA title, earning a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Playoffs and advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Additionally, the Tribe posted winning records during all four of his seasons.
An outstanding student, Woodard earned CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll accolades each of his final three seasons.
A three-sport standout student-athlete at Warwick High School, Woodard was a two-time team captain and four-year letterwinner as an offensive and defensive lineman. He earned all-district honors twice and qualified for the state tournament as a member of the wrestling team.
Woodard is the son of Aaron Woodard and Pamela Adams, and has a younger brother, Rylan, who attends Old Dominion University.
