Max Giordano joined William & Mary baseball as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2024.
Giordano was added to Head Coach Rob McCoy’s coaching staff after the duo spent five years together at Niagara throughout Giordano’s collegiate playing career.
Signing in the MLB Draft League following his collegiate career, Giordano played with the Trenton Thunder for a season before serving as a hitting and fielding coach at Hot Corner Athletics in Buffalo, N.Y., in 2024.
During his five years at Niagara, Giordano was a first-team All-Region and first-team All-MAAC outfielder. Earning honors throughout his career, Giordano was also named to the MAAC All-Rookie team as a freshman and earned MAAC All-Academic honors three times.
In his final season as a Purple Eagle, Giordano helped lead Niagara to its winningest season since 2018, appearing in the MAAC Championship for a third consecutive year. He broke Niagara’s single-season home run record with 16 and finished the 2023 season with two marks in the program’s top four, including a third-ranked 54 RBI and fourth-ranked 51 runs. He ranked among the MAAC’s top three in a trio of statistics in 2023, slugging .741 with a .481 on-base percentage and 1.222 OPS.
A native of Lancaster, N.Y., Giordano played both baseball and football in his high school years, earning All-State honors in each sport and garnering Lancaster Bee Male Athlete of the Year and Bee Pitcher of the Year honors his senior season.
Giordano graduated from Niagara University in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Operations and continued his education as a graduate student in Niagara’s Master of Business Administration program.
