Prevention of Sexual Violence / Title IX

Sexual Harassment, Gender-Based Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Policy

William & Mary Athletics fully endorses the William & Mary Sexual Harassment, Gender-Based Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Policy prohibiting acts of discrimination, discriminatory harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct by all members of the university community, including faculty, staff, and students. This policy also applies to contractors, vendors, and other third parties.

Annual education and training in the prevention of sexual violence is required by all student-athletes, practice players, coaches and staff of the William & Mary Athletics Department. Training is facilitated by the university's Sexual Assault Prevention Specialist and other members of the Health Promotion Staff.

Title IX Office
The university is committed to affording all parties due process in our procedure and to retaining industry best practices in policies that prohibit additional forms of sex and gender-based misconduct not covered by Title IX regulations. Our expectations for compliance with the policy extend to any program in which the university has control, including programs outside of the United States, such as study abroad.

Pamela Mason serves as the University's Chief Compliance Officer and the Title IX Coordinator. As the University's Title IX Coordinator, she is available to provide information and advice regarding Title IX for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. In addition, she will be available to respond to complaints and concerns relative to William & Mary's compliance with its own sex discrimination policy and federal, state, or local regulations.
