After becoming a student-athlete, an individual shall not be eligible for participation in intercollegiate athletics if the individual accepts remuneration for or permits the use of his or her name or picture to advertise, recommend, or promote directly the sale or use of a commercial product or service of any kind or receives remuneration for endorsing a commercial product or service through the individual’s use of such product or service.

An institutional, (including fraternity, sorority, student government organization, Mason School of Business, School of Education, etc.) charitable, educational or nonprofit organization may use a student-athlete’s name, picture or appearance to support its activities or to support activities incidental to the student-athlete’s participation in intercollegiate athletics, provided certain conditions are met and PRIOR approval is received by the Athletics Director or his designee. Please access the approval form with the required conditions on the student-athlete Blackboard website under NCAA Education.
