In order to protect the student-athlete from injury and protect the integrity of the athletic program, the Athletic Department reserves the right to drug-screen the student-athletes under its supervision for those substances banned according to the NCAA. www.wm.edu/offices/sportsmedicine. Drug screening will take place under these situations:
SCREENING PROCESS:
Student-Athletes are subjected to drug testing within the parameters set forth by this policy. Appendix A lists the substances that may be tested for during drug testing and is subject to change at any time. The screening will be done by a certified laboratory. Unless otherwise notified, testing will be done within the William & Mary athletic facilities. Individuals will be subject to undergo drug testing for:
- Reasonable suspicion/for cause
- Periodic monitoring or after care
- Random
