An athletic grant-in-aid for summer school is the exception, not the rule. Only student-athletes receiving aid during the preceding academic year are eligible for such aid and only at a proportion equivalent to that received during the academic year. William and Mary summer school grants, in most cases, cover only the cost of tuition and are restricted to students attending classes at W&M.

To request an athletic grant-in-aid for summer school, the student-athlete must have approval of the Head Coach and must meet with the Asst. AD for Academic Services. To initiate a request, complete the Summer School Request Form available from the Athletic Department Academic Support Services Office. Student-athletes will be asked to sign a contract regarding grade and class attendance expectations. If aid is awarded and the SA does not meet the obligations in the signed contract, the SA is subject to penalties equivalent to the total amount charged for tuition of the summer course, including tuition, fees, room and board. Generally, any grades below a B- will result in revocation of summer aid.
