Registration For On-Campus Housing (Lottery)

Table of Contents

With few exceptions, entering full time freshmen and returning sophomores are required to live on campus and are guaranteed on-campus housing. Following the sophomore year, all students at William & Mary who wish to live on campus must annually apply for housing and participate in the Housing Lottery. There is no guarantee of on-campus housing for any student beyond the first two years.

Room availability will vary based on renovations and construction of new dorms.  For current information, please contact the Office of Residence Life directly https://www.wm.edu/offices/residencelife/.

To register for housing, students must pay a housing deposit. Only full scholarship student-athletes may authorize payment of the housing deposit directly from their athletic scholarship. This is not an automatic process, individuals must follow the proper procedures and personally register and authorize payment to the appropriate authority. Student-athletes on any type of partial grant-in-aid must personally pay the housing deposit at the time they register for on-campus housing. Once students have registered and authorized payment of the housing deposit, any change resulting in the loss of the deposit is the financial responsibility of the individual student. All students are responsible for completing housing contracts and for payment of the refundable damage deposit.
