An athletic grant-in-aid may be reduced or cancelled during the term of the award if the recipient: (1) does not meet initial or continuing eligibility standards, or is otherwise ineligible to practice or compete in intercollegiate athletics; (2) fraudulently misrepresents information on an admissions application, letter of intent or financial aid agreement; (3) engages in misconduct warranting substantial disciplinary action by the institution or law enforcement; or (4) voluntarily withdraws from the sport.
Â
Any reduction or cancellation of aid is permissible only if such action is taken for proper cause by the regular disciplinary or financial aid authorities of the institution and the student-athlete has had an opportunity for a hearing as specified by NCAA bylaws.
Â
Student-athletes who voluntarily quit or are dismissed for cause from the team during an academic term may have their grant-in-aid discontinued immediately. The financial aid package will be reduced based on the prorated student withdrawal schedule set by the student accounts office. For information or questions, contact the Associate Athletic Director – Student Services or Director of Financial Aid.
