Housing and/or Meal Allotments

Table of Contents

Student-athletes are encouraged to live on campus and to register for a meal plan provided by the designated food service provider. The procedures for registering for the on-campus housing lottery are covered in the Athletic Department Regulations section of this handbook (Registering for On Campus Housing—Lottery).

In special circumstances and with head coach and Athletic Department approval, upper-class full grant-in-aid student-athletes may be permitted to receive an allotment payment for off campus housing and/or a meal allotment in lieu of a meal plan. Partial scholarship students whose grant-in-aid exceeds the tuition and fees, may be permitted to receive an allotment for the balance remaining if he or she elects to live off campus and not receive a meal plan. The housing allotment is equivalent to the average cost of on-campus housing as determined by the financial aid office of the College. The meal allotment is equivalent to the actual cost of the 19-meal or Gold Plan as determined by the food service provider. To request housing or meal allotments follow the procedures noted below:
  • Fill out the Housing and Meal Allotment online survey distributed by the Compliance office in mid-June.
  • The completed survey must be reviewed and approved through signature by your head coach.
  • The completed form, including the head coach signature, must be received by the Compliance Office before JULY 15. Be aware that no housing or meal allotment requests will be processed after the first day of classes in any semester.
  • When changing board or meal options, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure cancellation of a previous agreement with Residence Life or the Food Service provider. Charges above the NCAA approved amount are the financial responsibility of the individual student.
All housing and meal scholarship dollars for the upcoming semester will be loaded onto the students’ accounts prior to the first day of the semester. Students may then request a refund from the Bursar’s Office to receive those monies.

ANY PAYMENTS TO A STUDENT BEYOND THOSE NOTED MAY BE A VIOLATION OF NCAA RULES, AFFECTING BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM ELIGIBILITY.
PLEASE REPORT ANY OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE COMPLIANCE OFFICE.
