William & Mary Athletics

William & Mary Athletic Foundation funding is critical to the success of William & Mary's athletics programs. Membership enables our student-athletes to excel at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics. By providing important resources for scholarships, coaching salaries, equipment and facilities, William & Mary Athletic Foundation members improve the quality of all aspects of William & Mary Athletics. Gifts to athletics can be designated for any one of the university's 23 varsity sports or the general unrestricted fund.  
 
William & Mary Athletic Foundation membership will be renewed on a calendar year basis beginning January 2021. While the 2020 membership year will expire on December 31st, benefits for Basketball will continue through the 2020-2021 season. 
 
Contributions may be made by cash, check, or credit card; and may be paid in a lump sum payment or on a monthly or quarterly basis, with the balance due by December 31. If your organization matches contributions, please forward all matching paperwork to the William & Mary Athletic Foundation to receive full recognition and benefit credit for the entire gift, including the matched portion. 
 
Scholarship Excellence Fund 
The goal of William & Mary Athletic Foundation annual giving is to provide William & Mary student-athletes and coaches with the support they need for athletic scholarships, coaching and administrative positions as well as operating expenses. Gifts will continue to close the gap on the Athletic Department’s largest annual expense- scholarship funding.  Unrestricted gifts to the Tribe Fund support all 23 of our varsity sports programs with the programs’ largest and most consistent needs. 
 
Sports Excellence Funds 
Sports excellence donations can be directed towards any of our 23 sports programs. As tuition costs and operating expenses rise, the need for scholarships increase- these funds are essential to the programmatic support of our varsity programs.  

Sports Excellence donors are those who recognize the value of the intercollegiate athletics experience and enthusiastically participate in the promotion, support and success of William & Mary athletes. Gifts to this fund provide our coaches with additional resources for areas of enhancement specific to their program- such costs may include equipment, additional scholarship funding, and travel.  
 
Facilities Excellence 
The growth and upgrading of athletics facilities will enable all student-athletes to boldly pursue excellence- by raising their athletic experiences at William & Mary to the caliber and prominence of their academic experiences.  

Most recently, the university unveiled plans for a reimagined W&M Athletics Sports Complex. The plans will revitalize Kaplan Arena and establish a new state-of-the-art Sports Performance Center. The $57 million project will transform the game-day experience for the entire William & Mary community, advance excellence in all 23 varsity sports programs and enhance the university’s facilities.  
 
Leadership Institute 
We believe in the wholistic development of our student-athletes that will equip them with the skills needed to achieve success during and after their collegiate careers. This privately funded institute allows W&M Athletics to provide programs such as professional development, mock interviewing, resume workshops, and networking events. These programs, in addition to other opportunities will enable our student-athletes to become proud alumni and lifelong ambassadors of our institution.
