The William & Mary baseball team has had its number of outstanding athletes, with many of them continuing their careers well beyond their days playing for the Green & Gold.Â
The Tribe has amassed 44 draft picks in the MLB Amateur Draft era. Since 1997, MLB clubs have drafted 37 players out of W&M. Four Tribe players have been selected in the first five rounds since 2017, including two of the highest picks since Bill Bray was taken in the first round at No. 13 overall by the Montreal Expos in 2004.
Seventeen players have been drafted within the first 10 rounds, with seven of those coming in the last two years. INF Ben Williamson's selection at overall pick No. 57 in 2023 marked the second-highest pick in school history. He made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners on April 13, 2025, becoming the 12th Tribe alum to play in Major League Baseball.
