SENIOR SEASON / 2014
Named Second-Team All-CAA as a utility player … Made 54 starts in his only season with the Tribe, while also making 15 relief appearances on the mound … He finished the season with a .291 batting average with 64 hits, 15 doubles, two triples, two home runs, and 32 RBIs … On the mound he posted a 4.50 ERA with a 4-4 record and five saves … He tossed 22.0 innings, allowing 25 hits, 11 runs, and had 25 strikeouts … Made his first start for the Tribe against Army (2/14) going 2-for-3 with two RBIs … Picked up his first victory on the mound against Army (2/16) tossing one inning, and striking out one … Picked up his first save with the Tribe at High Point (2/21) striking out one in a perfect frame … Had three consecutive multi-hit games from 2/23-3/1, including hitting a pair of doubles and RBIs against UMBC (3/1) … Pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a strikeout for a save at Campbell (3/8) … Put together a nine-game hit streak from 3/5-15 … Collected a career-high five hits against Richmond (3/12), he had a double, home run, and two RBIs in the game … Went 3-for-6 against Brown (3/24) with a double … Had a 3-for-4 day with a double against James Madison (4/12) … Recorded a career-high three RBIs against James Madison (4/13) … Drove in the game-winning RBI in all three wins at Northeastern, including driving in a career-high tying three RBIs on April 20 … Named CAA Player of the Week of April 21 … Went 3-for-4 with a home run against Hofstra (4/26) … Tied his career-high with three RBIs against Towson on (5/2 & 5/4) … Pitched a career-high three innings earning the save against Towson (5/4) … Tied his career-high with three innings pitched at College of Charleston (5/16).
AT LAFAYETTE
Played three seasons at Lafayette… Finished the 2012 season with a .330 average and was named to the Second Team in the Patriot League… A season ago, hit .317 and garnered first team All-Patriot League… Has played summer ball all across the country with Mystic Sooners (Northeast Collegiate Baseball League), Alaska Goldpanners (Alaska Summer League), and the New Market Rebels (Valley League)… While with the Goldpanners he received second team All-Alaska league honors.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played three seasons of varsity baseball at Bishop Eustace Prep… Was a two-time member of the all-conference, all-group and all-state teams…Played his club ball with the South Jersey Young Guns.
PERSONAL
Son of Donald and Rose Ann Casey… Father, Donald, played baseball at Villanova… Enjoys golfing in his free time.
