2015-16 Men's Gymnastics Roster
Biography
Co-Captain Keaton Ackerman is not only a USA Gymnastics Collegiate All-American in both the all-around and on the pommel horse but also a College Gymnastics Association first team All-American Scholar-Athlete as well as a two-time William and Mary Provost Award recipient for maintaining a cumulative grade point average above 3.5. Keaton will be graduating in December with a degree in accounting with a concentration in entrepreneurship. He will compete this year while pursuing a degree in the prestigious one year MBA program in accounting at W&M’s Mason School of Business. Beyond that, Keaton has already accepted a position in accounting at Deloitte Consulting.
              Â
Keaton finished as the second highest point scorer for last year’s Tribe team that finished the season ranked 14th in the final NCAA statistical rankings. He also helped the gymnasts defend their National Academic Team Championship and in the process completing a remarkable string of national academic titles to three in the last four years. The Tribe gymnasts continue to lead the nation with seven academic team titles since the team award was established in 1992. He currently ranks third on pommel horse, fifth in the all-around, and ninth on vaulting in our all-time records. Keaton is also a very positive force in the community where he will serve as the director of the 2015 Williamsburg NEDA (National Eating Disorders Association) fund-raising and awareness walk. Additionally, Keaton is a member of the W&M Student Athlete Advisory Committee and has also been elected by his fellow collegiate gymnasts to serve as a student-athlete representative on the USA Gymnastics Men’s Collegiate Gymnastics Committee.
Â
Keaton brings a very special perspective on life to William and Mary and our gym as a result of the uniqueness of the Jencik family which includes 14 brothers and sisters many of whom have been adopted and have special needs. Sadly, Keaton’s youngest brother recently passed away a few months before his first birthday. In addition to being the best friend that you could ever wish to have, Keaton is the consummate teammate both in and out of the gym. He was coached by Ivo Grahovski and Gary Schnitzler at the Rochester Gymnastics Academy. Keaton’s parents are Kurt and Shelley Ackerman and Barry and Brittany Jencik.
