Biography

2011: Started all but two matches in her rookie campaign as the Tribe's setter ... Dished out 796 assists over the course of the year ... Total ranks 12th all-time in a career at W&M ... Had 50 assists in the Tribe's 3-0 win voer Robert Morris on Sept. 9 ... Is just the third player in school history to have 50 assists in a three-set match (Sarah Gubler twice, Kim Mount) ... Finished the year with five 50+ performances ... Averaged greater than nine assists per set in 13 matches ... Had three double-doubles over the course of the season, including Rhode Island (43-10), George Mason (51-11), and Hofstra (25-10).

Prep: Captained Bishop Moore to the Florida 3A state semifinals and the regional title as a senior ... Named all-state for her efforts ... Finished the year with more than 1,000 assists ... As a junior, was named honorable-mention All-Central Florida ... Helped First Academy win the state title in 2008 ... In the club volleyball ranks, was named a 2010 AAU All-American in the 17 Open division ... Earned All-Tournament honors that summer as well at the USA Volleyball Nationals ... Captained her team from 2007-10 ... Volunteered with four different children-outreach programs in high school ... Member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Rho Kappa.

Personal: Daughter of Iris Castillo and Juan Rivas ... Father was a standout basketball player, playing in three Olympics for the Puerto Rican national team and spending 11 years total on the national team (1986-97) ... Was also a member of the Boston Celtics from 1988-89, when he was just the second Puerto Rican to ever play in the NBA ... He also played professionally in Europe for eight years (1989-97), after graduating from Temple in 1988 ... Enjoys running, traveling, and painting.
