WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary women's soccer returns to Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field for a pair of CAA matches, beginning Thursday, Sept. 24, against Towson before hosting Drexel on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Thursday's match against the Tigers is set for 7 p.m. and will mark the Tribe's first home CAA contest of the season. W&M hosts Drexel at 1 p.m. Sunday for Military Appreciation. Both matches will be streamed on FloCollege.
Clear Bag Policy and Metal DetectorsÂ
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary has implemented the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events). This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.
THE TRIBE. William & Mary enters the week at 1-4-3 overall and 0-0-1 in CAA play following a 1-1 draw at College of Charleston on Saturday. Freshman Ava Magnuson scored the first goal of her collegiate career just 1:06 into the match, while senior Ava Schultz recorded her first career assist.
Through eight matches, the Tribe has scored 13 goals on 103 shots, putting 53 attempts on goal. W&M has also generated 52 corner kicks.
MAGNUSON BREAKS THROUGH. Magnuson's goal at Charleston marked the first of the freshman's collegiate career. The forward has appeared in all eight matches for the Tribe and has three points on a goal and an assist.
Magnuson has recorded 10 shots this season, putting six on goal. Her first collegiate point came with an assist on Mia Abbey's goal in the season opener at Loyola Maryland.
ABBEY LEADS THE ATTACK. Abbey continues to lead William & Mary with eight points on three goals and two assists. The sophomore midfielder also leads the Tribe with 30 shots and 16 shots on goal through eight matches.
Ellie Leffler is tied with Abbey for the team lead with three goals, while Lindsay Wilson has recorded five points on two goals and an assist. Paige Seitz has added two goals, with both coming in W&M's 5-1 victory at American.
SECOND-HALF SUCCESS. William & Mary has scored 10 of its 13 goals after halftime this season. The Tribe has also generated 57 of its 103 shots and 33 of its 52 corner kicks in the second half.
THE TIGERS. Towson enters Thursday at 3-4-2 overall and 0-1 in CAA play. The Tigers have dropped two straight matches, including a 2-1 setback at Hofstra on Sunday.
Towson has scored 11 goals this season while averaging 17 shots per match. The Tigers have outshot their opponents, 153-87, and hold a 53-40 advantage in corner kicks.
Kale'a Perry leads Towson with seven points on three goals and an assist. Jayla Caldwell, Meron Koro and Sofia Rosenblatt have each scored twice, while Sophie Thibeault has added a goal and two assists.
Teagan Gardner and Keagan Williams have split time in goal for the Tigers. Gardner has posted a 1.26 goals-against average in eight appearances, while Williams owns a 1.13 GAA and an .813 save percentage in five appearances. Towson has recorded three shutouts as a team.
TRIBE VS. TIGERS. William & Mary holds a 14-7-3 advantage in the all-time series against Towson.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw last season on Sept. 21, 2025, in Towson. The draw snapped a five-match Towson winning streak in the series.
W&M's last victory over the Tigers came on Sept. 29, 2019, when the Tribe earned a 2-1 win in Williamsburg.
THE DRAGONS. Drexel enters the week at 4-4-1 overall and 0-1 in CAA play. The Dragons travel to Hampton on Thursday before making the trip to Williamsburg for Sunday's match.
Drexel enters the week having dropped back-to-back matches against Delaware and Northeastern. The Dragons fell to Northeastern, 3-0, on Sunday.
The Dragons have scored 15 goals in nine matches while averaging 13.6 shots per contest. Drexel has put 58 of its 122 attempts on goal.
Liv Brocious leads the Dragons with nine points on four goals and an assist. Nia Chinapoo has eight points on two goals and a team-high four assists, while Makenzie McCready has scored three goals and added an assist for seven points.
Gracie Sullivan has played 765 of Drexel's 810 minutes in goal, recording 42 saves and a .750 save percentage.
TRIBE VS. DRAGONS. William & Mary holds an 18-4-2 advantage in the all-time series against Drexel.
The sides played to a scoreless draw on Sept. 18, 2025, in Philadelphia. W&M won the most recent meeting in Williamsburg, earning a 2-0 victory in 2024.
Drexel's last victory in the series came in 2022, a 2-1 win in Philadelphia, while the Dragons have not won in Williamsburg since 2014.
