WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The No. 21 William & Mary football team will play its first Patriot League home game when it hosts Fordham at Zable Stadium on Saturday at 6 p.m. The contest will be part of
W&M's Family Weekend festivities.

Clear Bag Policy and Metal Detectors at Zable Stadium in 2026
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events). This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the
Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.
Cashless Concessions for 2026-27
W&M, in partnership with W&M Dining and Aramark, has implemented cashless concessions at all home athletic competitions for the 2026-27 academic year in an effort to improve speed of service and the overall fan experience. The transition to fully cashless transactions at concession stands is designed to reduce wait times and streamline the purchasing process for fans. The move follows a growing trend among collegiate and professional stadiums and sporting venues across the country and reflects support expressed in a recent survey of William & Mary fans. All concession stands at W&M Athletics venues will accept major credit cards, including Discover, Mastercard and Visa, as well as mobile payment options including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Cash will no longer be accepted at concession stands.
After opening the season with back-to-back wins against No. 8/7 Villanova and Delaware State, W&M will look to bounce back from its first setback – a 44-20 loss at No. 9/8 Lehigh – when it hosts Fordham on Saturday. The Tribe currently leads the nation in caused turnovers (11) and ranks third in turnover margin (+7). Quarterback
Winston Watkins ranks third in the Patriot League in total offense (213.7), while running back
Andrew King is third in the conference in rushing (65.3). Additionally, wide receiver
Kai Austin is coming off a 10-catch performance at Lehigh and ranks second in the league in receptions (15). Defensively, linebacker
Harrison Johnson is averaging a team-leading 9.0 tackles per game, which ranks sixth in the Patriot League.
Fordham is looking for its first win of the season after suffering setbacks to Colgate and a pair of FBS opponents – North Dakota State and Coastal Carolina. In those losses, the Rams have been outscored 107-21 and are averaging just 179.7 total yards per game. Quarterback Gunnar Smith is responsible for both of the Rams' offensive touchdowns with scoring strikes to Ricky Gonzalez ad Nodin Tracy, while defensive back Justin Johnson recorded a pick-six.
Saturday's game will mark the first meeting between W&M and Fordham.
