WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — With the start of the 2026 William & Mary football season just days away, six former members of the program are currently continuing to pursue their playing careers at the professional level in the NFL.

The impressive group of Tribe alumni currently on active NFL rosters include: Charles Grant (Las Vegas Raiders), Nate Lynn (New York Jets), Bill Murray (Los Angeles Rams), Luke Rhodes (Indianapolis Colts), Colby Sorsdal (Detroit Lions) and Owen Wright (Houston Texans).

After entering the League as a linebacker, Rhodes converted to a long snapper during his second season and enters his 11th year in the NFL – all of which have come with the Colts. A two-time All-Pro selection, he earned first-team honors in 2021.

Like Rhodes, Murray changed positions after entering the professional ranks, moving from the defensive line to the offensive line. After spending four seasons with the New England Patriots (2020-23), he was with the Chicago Bears (2024) and Indianapolis Colts (2025) before signing with the Rams this offseason.

A fifth-round draft pick by the Lions in 2023, Sorsdal appeared in 16 games on the offensive line during his rookie season and earned a start versus the Raiders. This fall he enters his fourth season with the Lions.

Another offensive lineman who was selected in the NFL Draft, Grant was chosen in the third round by the Raiders in 2025. He appeared in nine games as a rookie and earned a start versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

Recently signed by the Jets, Lynn will suit up for his third NFL team after signing with the Lions as a free agent at linebacker in 2024 and the Tennessee Titans last season.

Wright, a running back, signed with the Texans during the offseason after previously spending time with the Baltimore Ravens (2023-24) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2025).

In addition to the impressive list of active players, a number of former W&M student-athletes and assistant coaches are also currently on NFL coaching staffs, highlighted by Buffalo Bills Head Coach Joe Brady. A complete list of Tribe in the Pros can be found here.

W&M will open its inaugural season in the Patriot League with a conference matchup at Villanova on Friday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m.

Season tickets, including renewals and Green & Gold Tribe Passes, are now on sale at TribeAthletics.com.

W&M enters the fall having posted five consecutive winning seasons, marking the program's longest stretch of winning ledgers since the 1990s.

The Tribe's 2026 schedule is available at TribeAthletics.com.
