Dear Friends of Tribe Athletics,

Just 24 hours ago we were in the middle of One Tribe One Day (OTOD) activities that brought the William & Mary community together in Williamsburg and around the globe.  Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who participated in this awesome event.  Your devotion to the Green & Gold transcends place and time as does your passion for the Tribe.  As soon as the results are finalized, I will be sure to share them with you, but all signs point to it having been a record day!

Graduation Is Just Ahead!
We are officially in Commencement season, and the main ceremony will be held on May 15, but between now and then there are celebratory events to honor the graduates. Today, the festivities begin with Senior Signing Day when undergraduate students can collect a graduation cord for any internship, research or other applied learning experience they had. This year about 150 of our student-athletes will be receiving their diplomas with their proud families and friends cheering them on.  It marks a special time for all of us.

Notable
  • Men's Gymnast Luke Tully is the first student-athlete in program history to earn NCAA All-America honors in all-around! He placed sixth at the national championship meet with a 76.598, after competing on floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar.  Luke's remarkable season is chronicled here.

  • Uriah Harris was named CAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week (for the third time this spring) and Hayes Trapp earned CAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors.  At the Penn Relays, Uriah placed sixth in the College Men's Shot Put before adding another sixth-place finish in the College Men's Discus Championship against one of the nation's top collegiate fields.  Hayes finished third in the College Men's 10,000m Championship at the Penn Relays and earlier this season, he posted a season-best time of 29:12.09 at the Raleigh Relays, the fastest 10,000m mark in the CAA this outdoor season.

  • Infielder Matthew Kosuda is the CAA's Rookie of the Week; the third time he has won the honor.  He batted .550 with seven runs, one homer, and nine RBI while slugging .900. Matt's standout play helped the Tribe earn a critical CAA weekend sweep at N.C. A&T.
  • Jamie Laskofski, pictured below, was one of 50 players named a semifinalist for the prestigious Brooks Wallace Award, given annually to the nation's top shortstop by the College Baseball Foundation. Jamie is pacing the Tribe in nearly every offensive category, posting a .345 batting average with 50 hits, 44 runs, eight homers and 33 RBI.

  • Women's Golf earned its highest finish at the CAA Championships in a decade, and Jennifer Osborne became the first Tribe player to earn a top 10 at the league championships in four years.

  • Football standouts Jalen Jones and Luke Banbury earned NFL rookie minicamp invites with the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens. Both All-Americans, Jalen is a cornerback and Luke is a linebacker. The pair each earned All-America recognition this season, as Jones ended his career as a two-time First-Team All-CAA selection at cornerback, while Banbury the CAA's first-team honor at middle linebacker in his lone season with the program.
CAA Cares Award Goes to Marc Elim
The CAA has bestowed one of its highest honors, the CAA Cares Award, on our great friend Marc Elim, for his exceptional service, leadership, and commitment to both athletics and the community.

A proud member of the Class of 1988 and a former Tribe football student‑athlete, Marc has dedicated nearly two decades of service as a  board member of the W&M Athletics Foundation, formerly known as the Tribe Club. He served as  board chair from 2020 to 2023, helping guide the foundation through a critical period of growth. Marc is deeply involved in community service, working with numerous organizations and foundations.  Please take a moment to join me in congratulating him on this well-deserved tribute.

In that Number!
For the seventh year in a row, more than 200 Tribe student-athletes were recognized as Provost Award winners .  The program began in 2003 and recognizes athletes who maintain a 3.5 or better GPA.  A total of nine programs had at least 10 athletes honored, led by 25 from Women's Cross Country and Track & Field and 24 from the CAA Champion Women's Swimming team. On the men's side, Football led the way with 19 honorees. Men's Basketball (5) and Men's Swimming (15) joined Women's Swimming, Women's XC and T&F, and Football in producing record numbers of honorees.  Well done, everyone!

Go Tribe!
