WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary earned the No. 2 seed in the 2026 CAA Women's Tennis Championship and will host the event at the Mackesy Tennis Center at the Millie West Courts, April 17–19.
Only the top six teams in the league will compete for the conference title and an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.
As the No. 2 seed, the Tribe receives a first-round bye and will open play in the semifinals on Saturday, April 18, at 6 p.m., facing the winner of No. 3 Charleston and No. 6 Campbell. Admission is free to all matches.
William & Mary enters the championship at 13–6 overall and posted a 6–1 mark in CAA play this season with victories over Towson, Drexel, UNCW, Charleston, Stony Brook, and Hampton.
The Tribe has been the No. 1 or No. 2 seed in 24 of the last 28 CAA Championships and owns an 11–3 all-time record as the No. 2 seed, including league titles from the second line in both 2022 and 2024.
William & Mary boasts one of the most successful traditions in conference history, winning 29 of the CAA's 40 all-time women's tennis championships and finishing as the runner-up eight times. Since the league adopted its current head-to-head team format in 1995, the Tribe is 73–10 (.879) at the event.
Overall, William & Mary holds a 178–25 (.876) all-time record against CAA opponents. Under head coach Jessica Giuggioli, the Tribe is 35–3 in conference matches over the last five seasons.
Last season, William & Mary also earned the No. 2 seed and advanced to the championship match with a 4–0 semifinal victory over Delaware before falling to top-seeded Elon, 4–2.
Competition begins on Friday with quarterfinal matches, followed by semifinals on Saturday and the championship match on Sunday at 2 p.m.
