RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary's Francesca Davis has been named the CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Competing at No. 3 singles, Davis posted a 2–0 record as the Tribe split a pair of matches last week.

The junior opened the week with a strong performance against James Madison, defeating Sophie Williams, 6–4, 6–0, during a tightly contested 4–3 team setback to the Dukes. Davis followed with another dominant straight-set victory in William & Mary's 6–1 win over CAA foe Drexel, clinching the match with a 6–2, 6–0 triumph over Adva Dabah.

The honor marks the first CAA Singles Player of the Week recognition of Davis' career.

William & Mary returns to CAA action Thursday, March 12, traveling to UNCW for a 1 p.m. match in Wilmington, N.C. The Tribe will then continue conference play on Saturday, March 14, when it visits Charleston for a 10 a.m. matchup in Charleston, S.C.
