Sallman’s Career Night Lifts Tribe Past Towson, 75–70

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Tika Sallman recorded a career-high 25 points and 12 rebounds as William & Mary women's basketball completed the season sweep of Towson with a 75–70 victory on Sunday afternoon at Kaplan Arena.

The win improves the Tribe to 13–10 overall and 6–6 in CAA play, while the Tigers fall to 14–11 and 7–6 in conference action.

It marks William & Mary's first season sweep of Towson since 2020 and gives the Tribe wins in three of its last four games.

"We had a really good day of practice yesterday," said head coach Erin Dickerson Davis. "I thought our preparation carried over into today's performance. We've said it all season — we play how we prepare."

Sallman was dominant in the paint, finishing 10-of-15 from the field and adding four blocks to secure her double-double.

Marley Long added a career-high 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting off the bench, providing a key spark in the middle quarters.

Monet Dance chipped in 18 points, including four 3-pointers, while Alexa Mikeska added eight points and went a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line.

As a team, William & Mary shot 48.2% (27-of-56) from the field and 50% (5-of-10) from beyond the arc.

First Quarter
William & Mary built early momentum behind inside scoring from Sallman and a late 3-pointer from Dance. The Tribe closed the opening period on a 5–0 run to take a 17–13 lead after 10 minutes.

Second Quarter
The Tribe seized control in the second, shooting 75% (12-of-16) from the field in the frame.

Sallman scored repeatedly in the paint, while Dance knocked down a pair of triples as William & Mary outscored Towson 26–13 in the quarter to carry a 43–26 advantage into halftime.

Third Quarter
William & Mary continued to apply pressure in the third, extending its lead to as many as 20 points. Long provided an offensive lift with timely baskets, and the Tribe took a 61–41 lead into the final period.

Fourth Quarter
Towson mounted a late push, scoring 29 points in the fourth to trim the deficit to single digits. However, William & Mary converted 9-of-11 free throws in the final quarter to fend off the rally and secure the five-point win.
