RICHMOND, Va. — After a strong week at the top of the lineup, William & Mary junior Francesca Davis and freshman Tilda Larsson were named the CAA Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The Tribe duo went 2–0 at the No. 1 doubles position as William & Mary secured the doubles point in both matches last week. In a 7–0 victory over Mount St. Mary's, Davis and Larsson earned a 6–3 win over Bella Pescatore and Venus Tang. The pair followed with a tightly contested 7–6 triumph against Maryland's Magdalena Baniak and Oliwia Orlinska in a 6–1 setback to the Terrapins.
"Francesca and Tilda's games complement each other really well, which makes them a strong doubles pair," said head coach Jessica Giuggioli. "They had some great results this fall, and I look forward to seeing them carry that through this spring."
Davis, a junior from Glastonbury, Somerset, England, and Larsson, a freshman from Malmo, Sweden, have anchored the Tribe's doubles lineup this season, consistently setting the tone early in matches from the top position.
