WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary dropped Saturday's contest to North Carolina A&T 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 20-25, 13-25) on Saturday afternoon at Kaplan Arena.
After the Aggies (7-10, 2-4 CAA) moved ahead 17-10, kills from
Sophia Van Name and
Olivia Westfort, plus a Westfort-
Audrey Brcka block, helped cut the gap to 18-16.
Ava Crabtree's service ace later brought W&M (5-10, 1-5) within 19-18, but the Aggies finished the set 25-22.
W&M created early separation in the second set by winning seven of the first eight rallies, with kills from
Devereaux Hoxsie, Van Name and Brcka. With the Tribe ahead 16-14, Brcka served four straight points, a stretch that included a
Katherine Arnason-Westfort block and a Hoxsie kill.
Regan Hill finished the set with a service ace as W&M took it 25-17.
The Green and Gold spent much of the third set chasing after the Aggies turned a 2-2 score into an 11-3 advantage. W&M got back within 22-19 on an Arnason kill and an attack error by A&T, but the visitors closed out the set 25-20.
The Tribe fell behind early in the fourth set as the Aggies moved from a 2-2 tie to a 7-2 advantage.
Teagan Pocius recorded two kills as W&M worked back to 9-6, and a later serving stretch by
Shylah Swope included kills from Van Name and Westfort to make it 14-10.
The Aggies answered with another extended push and finished off the set, 25-13.

- Van Name led the Tribe with a career-high 13 kills on a .345 hitting percentage
- Swope had 24 assists while Cate Hatfield added 19.
- Avery Horejsi totaled 15 digs.
- Arnason added nine kills, seven digs, and 10 points.
