Swimming Goes Perfect at Tribe Quad Meet

HAMPTON, Va. — The William & Mary swimming teams had a perfect day at the Tribe Quad Meet on Friday afternoon, picking up four victories. The Tribe swept Old Dominion, 198-64 for the men and 222-40 for the women, while the women's team dominated East Carolina and Richmond with scores of 208-86 and 211-83, respectively.

Lauren Tucker delivered a strong performance in the 1000 free, finishing in 10:00.02 for the second-fastest performance in school history. She improved her previous personal-best by over six seconds. On the men's side, freshman Tyler Barritt moved up to fourth all-time in the 1000 free with his time of 9:21.72.

In the relay events, the 200 medley relay team of Julie Addison, Lindsay Juhlin, Lauren Klinefelter, and Caroline Burgeston continued its success with a first-place finish of 1:40.15, good for eighth-fastest in school history. W&M also won both 400 free relay events, with the men finishing in 3:01.26 and the women clocking in at 3:23.17.

NOTABLE RESULTS
  • The Tribe swept the 100 back events, with Addison (54.15) and Thomas Duncan (49.30) both finishing first.
  • In the 100 breast, Juhlin paced the field with a time of 1:01.32, while Brock Rempe led the men at 55.03.
  • Grace McCardle registered a top-16 performance in the 200 back, clocking in at 2:00.01 for ninth all-time.
  • Juhlin secured another victory in the 100 fly, timing out at 53.75
  • Duncan was responsible for three event victories, taking first place in the 200 IM (1:50.70) along with the 200 back (1:48.21)
  • David Yune posted the top time in the 200 free at 1:39.98.
  • The Green & Gold had 25 event victories in total.
