Women's Tennis Opens Dual-Match Season vs. Norfolk State on Saturday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary women's tennis opens the 2026 dual-match season against Norfolk State at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center on Saturday. The match is slated for an 11 a.m. start time and it will be streamed on PlaySight.
 
The Tribe's match originally scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. against Longwood has been postponed and reschedule for Feb. 26.

- W&M and Norfolk State meet for the sixth-straight season with the Tribe winning the first five all in Williamsburg.
 
Tribe News and Notes
- Senior Sia Chaudry earned All-CAA Third Team honors in singles last season. She posted 12 singles wins, including a 9-6 record at the No. 3 position. During the fall season, Chaudry tallied six singles wins.
 
- Junior Francesca Davis led the Tribe with nine singles wins during the fall season. Last season, she topped the Green and Gold with 23 singles victories, including 10 at the No. 5 position.
 
- Davis enters the spring season as the program's all-time leader in doubles winning %. Over her three seasons, she owns a 58-14 record, featuring a 80.6 winning %. Davis was an All-CAA Third Team selection in doubles last season.
 
- Davis and freshman Tilda Larrson were the Tribe's top doubles teams during the fall, boasting a record of 11-2. The pair was the CAA representative at the ITA Conference Masters Championships in November and advanced to the round of 16.
 
- Sophomore Mira Kernagis was a fixture in the Tribe's singles lineup last season. She tallied 19 wins and owned an 11-6 dual-match record during her rookie campaign.
 
- Chaudry and Kernagis had a strong run in the ITA Atlantic Region Doubles Championship during the fall. The pair posted three-straight wins on the way to advancing to the quarterfinals.
 
- The Tribe, which advanced to the CAA Final last season, won three-straight league championships in its first three seasons under head coach Jessica Giuggioli. The Tribe is 60-27 (.690) over her four seasons at the helm.
Gruendel ranks 14th in the CAA in goals scored (4) and 21st in total points (9).
