WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Winners of seven straight games, William & Mary women's basketball hosts its CAA home opener against Stony Brook on Sunday at Kaplan Arena. The action gets underway at 1 p.m. The game will be televised on MASN and streamed on FloCollege with live stats also available.

• Clear Bag Policy and Metal Detectors
Furthering its commitment to a first class and secure environment at home athletic events, William & Mary will implement the use of walk-through metal detectors at the entrances to athletic venues (both ticketed and non-ticketed events) beginning in the fall of 2025.  This enhanced security method mirrors standard practice at most major professional and intercollegiate athletic events throughout the country and compliments the Clear Bag Policy already in place. Fans will proceed through metal detectors prior to having their tickets scanned or entering a venue for non-tickets events. Entrants will not need to remove items such as belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects. If additional screening is necessary, security staff will ask the individual to proceed to a secondary screening area, where they will be asked to divest themselves of certain items and pass through again until clear.

TRIBE NOTES

• The Matchup
W&M enters the contest against Stony Brook on a seven-game winning streak, its longest streak since winning seven in a row from Nov. 21-Dec. 17, 2017. The Tribe will be looking to start 2-0 in CAA play for the second time in the last three years under head coach Erin Dickerson Davis.

• The Opponents
Stony Brook is 5-9 this season after falling to Hampton 63-54 in their CAA opener on Friday. Janay Brantley paces the team in scoring at 11.5 ppg, while Sandra Frau Garcia ranks second in the CAA with 56 assists on the year.

• Last Time Out
W&M led wire-to-wire in a 60-49 victory over N.C. A&T in the CAA opener on Friday. Freshman Dynasti Pierce led in scoring with a career-high 14 points, while Monet Dance dished out eight assists and posted a career-high six steals. The Tribe recorded a season-low in points allowed, holding A&T to 30% shooting from the floor.

• Floor General
Monet Dance dished out eight assists in the Tribe's win over N.C. A&T, giving her 18 helpers over her last two games. She also racked up six steals, equaling the most by a Tribe player since Victoria Reynolds in 2019.

• Perfect December
The Tribe went 5-0 in December, the program's first perfect month since December 2016 (6-0). Before that, its last undefeated month with at least five games played was January 1978.

• Mo Buckets
Dance was named CAA Player of the Week for Dec. 22 after averaging 17.0 points and 7.0 assists in a pair of victories over Stetson and Bethune-Cookman at the Holiday Hoops Classic. The junior from Roswell, Ga. dropped 20 points and four dimes in Friday's comeback win at Stetson before handing out 10 assists in the win over BCU on Saturday. The 10 helpers is tied for the most by a CAA player this season, and the most by a member of the Tribe since Eva Hodgson had 10 vs. Charleston on Jan. 12, 2020.

• No Stopping Nat
After dropping a career-high 18 points against Coppin State on Dec. 13, Natalie Fox one-upped herself with 20 points in the win over Coppin State on Dec. 19. In the month of December, Fox averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 56% FG shooting.

• Take Care of the Ball
W&M is 7-1 when it wins the turnover battle this season. The Tribe has been on the positive side of the turnover margin in six of its last seven games.

• WWWWWWinning Streak
The Tribe's six-game non-conference winning streak to end non-con play is its longest under Erin Dickerson Davis and the longest since 2017-18. W&M's six non-league wins are the most under Davis as well. The last time the Tribe won seven-plus non-conference games was in 2019-20 when the Green & Gold started the season 9-2.

• Lex Stuffs the Stat Sheet
Alexa Mikeska put together an impressive all-around performance against Coppin State, posting 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals. The outing also marked the senior's first double-figure scoring game in two seasons after battling injury for much of last year.

• Dropping Dimes
During the last three games the Tribe has made it a habit to share the ball. W&M has had 14-plus assists in each of the last six games. The 21 helpers against N.C. A&T were the most against a Division I opponent this season.

• Spread the Wealth
Fitting in with W&M's prowess sharing the ball over the last three games, the Tribe has also been very balanced in the scoring column. The Green & Gold has four players currently averaging double figures (Cassidy Geddes, Natalie Fox, Monet Dance and Tika Sallman).

• Major Upset
W&M's win over Wake Forest marked a series of firsts.

- The first win over a power-conference opponent since Clemson in 2015.
- The first win over Wake Forest in school history.
- The first non-conference road winning streak since 2020.
- The first loss for Wake Forest, previously the ACC's lone remaining unbeaten team.

• Pick-pocketing
The 26 turnovers forced by the Tribe against Tennessee State was its most vs. a DI opponent since the 2023-24 season when it forced 26 miscues twice against Hofstra on Jan. 26 and, coincidentally, against TSU on Nov. 24 of that year.

• Cass Doubles Down
Cassidy Geddes not only led the Tribe in scoring for the fourth time this season against Howard, but the junior was impactful as a rebounder from the guard position. Geddes snagged 10 rebounds to go with her 17 points for the first double-double of her career.

• Nat on the Glass
After a strong freshman season, Natalie Fox is poised for another solid season in Green and Gold in 2025- 26. The LaGrangeville, N.Y. native scored in double figures in the first three games this season, the first time in her career she has scored 10-plus in three straight outings. The sophomore grabbed a career-high 13 boards on Sunday at Howard, surpassing her previous watermark of 12.

• Star of the Show
Tika Sallman was named CAA Player of the Week for Dec. 8 after averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 67% from the floor. The Cairo, Egypt native keyed W&M's upset of Wake Forest, posting 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Sallman ranks second in the CAA in FG% (60.4) and FT% (82.6).

• Closing the Deal
Under Erin Dickerson Davis the Tribe is 41-11 when leading at halftime and a perfect 6-0 this season.

• 60 is the Magic Number
60 points is a key number for W&M. The Tribe is 28-9 under Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. Offensively, the Tribe is 53-17 when scoring at least 60 and 4-33 when held below 60 under Davis. W&M is a perfect 8-0 this year when scoring at least 60 points.

• Comeback Kids
W&M's historic CAA title run last season didn't come without adversity and deficits along the way. The Tribe trailed top-seed N.C. A&T in the quarterfinals by 12 points in the middle of the third before coming back to force overtime and earn a win. Campbell was the next victim of a W&M comeback in the championship, getting out to a 14-0 lead and again leading by 13 in the third before succumbing to a Tribe offensive bombardment that included a 61.5% shooting effort in the fourth. The Tribe only had won once when trailing at the half in the regular season.

• Tribe on TV
Naturally, last season brought a new-level of national attention to the Tribe program, with W&M playing a program record 12 games on linear television. Additionally, W&M played its first three nationally televised games in program history in 2024-25. The Green and Gold will be on TV a minimum of 10 times this season with 10 home matchups broadcast on MASN.

• Excellence from E
No other coach in William & Mary women's basketball history has had the success that Erin Dickerson Davis has had through three seasons. With the 16 wins last year, Davis became the first Tribe coach to win 15- plus games in each of their first three seasons. The Tribe won 12 conference games in each of her first two years, tying the program record for CAA wins in a season. W&M's first win of the season against Barton was Davis's 50th in her head coaching career.
