TRIBE NOTES

• The Matchup
W&M is set for a clash in the 757 as it hosts Hampton on Friday. The Tribe is undefeated in its last six matchups against the Pirates since they joined the CAA ahead of the 2022-23 season, equaling its longest active winning streak against a CAA opponent (UNCW).

• The Opponent
Hampton is 7-8 overall and 1-2 in CAA play, having dropped its last two games. The Pirates are led in scoring by Kayla Lezama at 13.8 ppg. Akilah Shelton has been dominant inside averaging 1.92 blocks per game, which ranks second in the CAA and 29th in Division I. Hampton is second in the league in turnover margin (+3.93) and three-point defense (28.5%).

• Last Time Out
W&M dropped another close contest on Sunday, falling to Campbell 45-43 in Buies Creek, N.C. Cassidy Geddes was the lone double-figures scorer, dropping 18 points with four rebounds. Amelia Basit picked up a career-high eight rebounds off the bench, while Alexa Mikeska equaled a personal best with four steals.

• Doing it With Defense
The Tribe held Campbell to 45 points, marking the Fighting Camels' lowest scoring output of the year and the fewest points allowed by the Green & Gold against a Division I foe since Jan. 14, 2024 against Elon. In conference play, W&M ranks third in field goal percentage defense at 34.6%.

• Road Warriors
W&M won five straight games on the road from Dec. 3 to Jan. 2. The last time that happened was from Nov. 21-Dec. 31, 2017. It's only happened three times since 1979.

• Smooth Operator
Alexa Mikeska continues to rank among the nation's leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio. The senior guard has 46 assists to 23 turnovers for a 2.00 A/TO ratio, ranking 63rd in Division I.

• Floor General
Monet Dance dished out eight assists in the Tribe's win over N.C. A&T. She also racked up six steals, equaling the most by a Tribe player since Victoria Reynolds in 2019.

• Perfect December
The Tribe went 5-0 in December, the program's first perfect month since December 2016 (6-0). Before that, its last undefeated month with at least five games played was January 1978.

• Mo Buckets
Dance was named CAA Player of the Week for Dec. 22 after averaging 17.0 points and 7.0 assists in a pair of victories over Stetson and Bethune-Cookman at the Holiday Hoops Classic. The junior from Roswell, Ga. dropped 20 points and four dimes in Friday's comeback win at Stetson before handing out 10 assists in the win over BCU on Saturday. The 10 helpers is tied for the most by a CAA player this season, and the most by a member of the Tribe since Eva Hodgson had 10 vs. Charleston on Jan. 12, 2020.

• No Stopping Nat
After dropping a career-high 18 points against Coppin State on Dec. 13, Natalie Fox one-upped herself with 20 points in the win over Coppin State on Dec. 19. In the month of December, Fox averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 56% FG shooting.

• WWWWWWinning Streak
The Tribe's six-game non-conference winning streak to end non-con play is its longest under Erin Dickerson Davis and the longest since 2017-18. W&M's six non-league wins are the most under Davis as well. The last time the Tribe won seven-plus non-conference games was in 2019-20 when the Green & Gold started the season 9-2.

• Lex Stuffs the Stat Sheet
Alexa Mikeska put together an impressive all-around performance against Coppin State, posting 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals. The outing also marked the senior's first double-figure scoring game in two seasons after battling injury for much of last year.

• Dropping Dimes
The 21 helpers by the Tribe against N.C. A&T on Jan. 2 were the most against a Division I opponent this season. W&M had eight straight games with 12-plus assists from Dec. 3-Jan. 9.

• Major Upset
W&M's win over Wake Forest marked a series of firsts.

- The first win over a power-conference opponent since Clemson in 2015.
- The first win over Wake Forest in school history.
- The first non-conference road winning streak since 2020.
- The first loss for Wake Forest, previously the ACC's lone remaining unbeaten team.

• Pick-pocketing
The 26 turnovers forced by the Tribe against Tennessee State was its most vs. a DI opponent since the 2023-24 season when it forced 26 miscues twice against Hofstra on Jan. 26 and, coincidentally, against TSU on Nov. 24 of that year.

• Cass Doubles Down
Cassidy Geddes not only led the Tribe in scoring for the fourth time this season against Howard, but the junior was impactful as a rebounder from the guard position. Geddes snagged 10 rebounds to go with her 17 points for the first double-double of her career.

• Nat on the Glass
After a strong freshman season, Natalie Fox is poised for another solid season in Green and Gold in 2025-26. The LaGrangeville, N.Y. native scored in double figures in the first three games this season, the first time in her career she has scored 10-plus in three straight outings. The sophomore grabbed a career-high 13 boards on Sunday at Howard, surpassing her previous watermark of 12.

• Star of the Show
Tika Sallman was named CAA Player of the Week for Dec. 8 after averaging 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 67% from the floor. The Cairo, Egypt native keyed W&M's upset of Wake Forest, posting 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Sallman ranks second in the CAA in FG% (60.4) and FT% (82.6).

• 60 is the Magic Number
60 points is a key number for W&M. The Tribe is 28-10 under Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. Offensively, the Tribe is 53-18 when scoring at least 60 and 4-35 when held below 60 under Davis. W&M is 8-1 this year when scoring at least 60 points.

• Comeback Kids
W&M's historic CAA title run last season didn't come without adversity and deficits along the way. The Tribe trailed top-seed N.C. A&T in the quarterfinals by 12 points in the middle of the third before coming back to force overtime and earn a win. Campbell was the next victim of a W&M comeback in the championship, getting out to a 14-0 lead and again leading by 13 in the third before succumbing to a Tribe offensive bombardment that included a 61.5% shooting effort in the fourth. The Tribe only had won once when trailing at the half in the regular season.

• Tribe on TV
Naturally, last season brought a new-level of national attention to the Tribe program, with W&M playing a program record 12 games on linear television. Additionally, W&M played its first three nationally televised games in program history in 2024-25. The Green and Gold will be on TV a minimum of 10 times this season with 10 home matchups broadcast on MASN.

• Excellence from E
No other coach in William & Mary women's basketball history has had the success that Erin Dickerson Davis has had through three seasons. With the 16 wins last year, Davis became the first Tribe coach to win 15-plus games in each of their first three seasons. The Tribe won 12 conference games in each of her first two years, tying the program record for CAA wins in a season. W&M's first win of the season against Barton was Davis's 50th in her head coaching career.
