NOTRE DAME, Ind. – William & Mary men's tennis fell 7-0 to ACC opponent Notre Dame on Saturday in their first road match of the season.
Sophomore
Oliver Hague and freshman
Gur Trakhtenberg combined for a win at the No. 1 doubles position. The Tribe (1-1) duo topped Notre Dame's Jameson Corsillo and Yu Zhang, 6-3, for their second-straight win.
Despite the Tribe's win at the top doubles post, Notre Dame (7-1) won the initial point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots
In singles, Hague battled tough against Notre Dame's Sebastian Dominko, who is ranked #28 nationally in singles. The Tribe sophomore won the opening set, 6-4, at No. 1, but the Fighting Irish All-American rallied by winning the final two sets to claim the victory.
Notre Dame won the other five singles matches in straight sets. Corsillo clinched the Irish win with a victory at No. 6.
At No. 2, Trakhtenberg played a tight first set, before falling to Yu Zhang, 7-5. Zhang won the second set to capped Notre Dame's 7-0 win.

The Tribe stays in Indiana to play Northern Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m., before returning home to host Hampton for the its first conference match on Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. inside the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
