SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The William & Mary women's tennis doubles team of junior
Francesca Davis and freshman
Tilda Larsson opened the 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championships with a straight-sets win in the opening round of the main doubles draw on Thursday at the Barnes Tennis Center.
The Tribe tandem posted a convincing straight-sets win, 6-2, 6-2, win over Horizon League Champion Line Greylingto and Yesenila Ovcharova of Youngstown State in the opening round of the 30-team doubles draw on Thursday. Davis and Larsson moved to an impressive 11-1 on the fall.
With the victory, Davis and Larsson advanced to the round of 16 on Friday where they will meet the No. 6 seeded team of Clara Owen and Abby Nugent of Xavier, who are also ranked No. 40 nationally. The match is slated for 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
The winner of the round of 16 match-up advances to the quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. PT on Friday. Owen and Nugent needed three sets to down the Denver team of Louise Wikander
and Marleu Lambert in the opening round on Thursday.
The top three teams (champion, runner-up, third-place finisher) at the ITA Conference Masters will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship, which is set for Nov. 18-23 in Orlando, Fla., at the USTA National Campus. Fans can follow the action at the ITA Conference Masters through
