RICHMOND, Va.— William & Mary junior guard,
Cassidy Geddes, was named preseason All-CAA Second Team, the Coastal Athletic Association announced on Thursday during its annual media day.
The Tribe was selected sixth as a team in the league's preseason poll, which was voted on by the CAA's 13 head coaches.
The honor for Geddes is her second career preseason CAA nod after being selected as an honorable mention a year ago. She was an All-Rookie Team selection in 2023-24.
The Hickory, N.C. native played in all 35 games a year ago, playing 30.8 minutes a game in a season that culminated in W&M's first CAA title and NCAA Tournametn appearance in school history. Geddes finished the year as the team's second leading scorer at 9.7 points per game, scoring in double figures on 16 occasions and 20-plus four times. She averaged 12 points per outing during the Tribe's CAA title run, landing her on the All-Tournament Team.
Geddes also averaged 2.2 assists per game, and led the squad in helpers in 10 games, tied for the team-high.
Charleston found themselves as the preseason favorites with eight first-place votes and 139 total points. Drexel (125) was selected second with two first-place votes, while N.C. A&T was one point behind the Dragons in third while picking up three first-place selections. Campbell (112) and Elon (87) were picked fourth and fifth respectively ahead of
Erin Dickerson Davis's club. The Tribe earned 83 points in the poll.
Towson (79), Monmouth (71), Hofstra (67), UNCW (39), Hampton (37), Stony Brook (33) and Northeastern (18) were all picked behind W&M.
Charleston's Taryn Barbot was named the league's Preseason Player of the Year.
W&M returns all nine of its non-graduating players from last year's championship run while adding six newcomers for the 2025-26 season.
The campaign begins on Nov. 6 at Davidson with the home opener on Nov. 9 against Barton College at 1 p.m. Season tickets are available now at
