LAST TIME OUT
W&M dropped a pair of hard-fought matches against conference leader Towson last weekend, losing twice in five sets. Beatriz Silva recorded a double-double in Friday's match, dishing out a season-high 31 assists and adding 15 digs. On Saturday, the Tribe fought back from a 2-1 deficit to send the match to a fifth set but ultimately fell in the final frame. W&M did post 14 blocks as a team, racking up 30 for the weekend.

BREAKING GROUND
Devereaux Hoxsie set a career-high with 17 kills on Saturday, posting a .224 hitting percentage. It was the most kills by any Tribe player in a conference match this year, and the second-most overall (Katherine Arnason had 19 against Maryland on Sep. 6).

RARE ROOKIE PERFORMANCE
Damisi Osibodu's 11 total blocks in Friday's loss to Towson was tied for the second-most ever by a Tribe freshman. The program record of 12 was set by Shaylin O'Connell in 2009. Coincidentally, Osibodu equaled the mark posted by her freshman teammate Olivia Westfort against UMBC back on Sep. 5.

GROUP PROJECT
Entering this week's action, William & Mary is the only team in Division I that has seven players with 30 or more total blocks. Ryann Love leads the way with 57, followed by Katherine Arnason (47), Nicole Smith (39), Osibodu (36), Westfort (35), Olivia Esposito (34), and Audrey Brcka (30).

DIGGING DEEP
Avery Horejsi is averaging 4.42 digs per set, ranking 51st in Division I and fourth in the CAA. She recently tied her career-high with 29 digs against Stony Brook on Oct. 3.

STAT NUGGETS
  • The Green & Gold continues to place among the nation's leaders in blocks, ranking 11th in blocks per set (2.86) and sixth in total blocks (183.0).
  • W&M has posted five straight matches with double-digit blocks. They had 30 combined against Towson.
  • Love had nine blocks against Towson on Saturday, including three solo. Her 10 solo rejections also lead the Tribe.
  • Silva's 15 digs against Towson were a season-high and her second-most ever in a double-double.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
N.C. A&T is 7-8 on the year with a 3-3 record in CAA play. The Aggies are coming off a road split against Charleston last weekend.

Sophomore outside Tyne Ross leads the CAA in numerous offensive categories, including kills per set (4.51), points per set (4.90), and attacks per set (11.68). Junior setter Leonor Polezzi has handed out 562 assists. Her 9.86 assists per set ranks 39th nationally and first in the CAA.
