Men's Tennis Concludes Action at ITA Atlantic Region Championships

Box Score BLACKSBURG, Va. - William & Mary men's tennis wrapped up play in the ITA Atlantic Region Championships on Saturday afternoon.
 
Sophomore Gur Trakhtenberg opened the day with a three-set win over No. 9-16 seed Yanis Moundir of Old Dominion to advance to the round of 16 in in singles action. He won both the first and third sets by matching 7-6 (3) tiebreaker scores for his second win of the fall.
 
In the third round, Trakhtenberg jumped out to a set advantage over No. 4 seed Mans Dahlberg of Virginia. The Tribe sophomore took the opening set, 6-4, before the Cavalier player rallied to advance to the quarterfinals with 6-1, 6-2 victories in the final two sets.
 
Trakhtenberg and junior Oliver Hague saw their run in the main doubles draw come to an end in the round of 16 on Saturday. The Tribe pair, seeded No. 5, dropped an 8-5 decision to the Virginia Tech team of Blake Hilsen and Eyal Shumilov.
 
Freshman Austin Cohen picked up his third win of the regional with three-set victory in the consolation bracket. He topped ODU's Thomas Nelson, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 11-9, for his sixth win of the fall season.
