W&M is off to a 1-1 start this season after earning a lopsided 41-7 win against VMI and falling at FBS opponent Coastal Carolina, 40-21. Led by senior quarterback Darius Wilson, who ranks seventh nationally in passing efficiency (171.4), W&M is averaging 31.0 points per game and ranks 27th nationally in total offense (348.5). Defensively, the Tribe has been outstanding against opponents' passing attacks. W&M ranks fourth nationally in pass efficiency defense (80.59). Additionally, the Tribe ranks 18th nationally and second in the CAA in fewest passing yards allowed (137.5).

Wofford is receiving votes in both national polls this week after opening its season with a pair of road wins at Gardner-Webb and Richmond. The Terriers boast one of the nation's top passing attacks and rank 24th in the country with 246.5 yards per game through the air. Defensively, Wofford has also been impressive and ranks 22nd nationally in total defense (309.0) and 23rd in scoring defense 19.5).

Saturday's game will mark just fourth meeting between W&M and Wofford and the first in Spartanburg, as all three of the previous matchups were played in Williamsburg. W&M defeated the Terriers, 23-6, last season, while it also earned a 30-14 win in 1988 and a 19-0 victory in 1930.
