WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis topped Elon, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Mackesy Tennis Center.
W&M (13-5, 5-0 CAA) returned to the win column by capturing the doubles point and claiming four of the six singles spots. Graduate student

Francesca Davis (No. 6) won in both singles and doubles on the day, while junior
Hedda Gurholt provided the clincher at No. 2 singles.
How It Happened
- The Tribe captured the doubles point for the 15th time in its 18 matches. This time, the Green and Gold claimed wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to secure the point.
- Davis and Mejic played together for the first time in dual-match action. After going 3-0 during the fall as a team, the pair notched its first win of the spring with a 6-3 triumph over Ella Suk and Simon Bergeron at No. 3.
- Junior
Alessandra Anghel and Stange won their fourth match in a row and clinched the doubles point, dropping Madison Cordisco and Mariana Reding, 6-2, at No. 2. The Tribe pairing improved to 5-1 overall, 4-0 on line two, and 3-0 in CAA play.
- Mejic won her eighth in a row and remained undefeated in CAA play at 6-0 thanks to a victory at No. 3. She downed Mariana Reding, 6-1, 7-6, to improve to 14-9 overall and 10-5 on line three. Mejic remained perfect in CAA action at 6-0.
- After an Elon (12-9, 3-2 CAA) win at No. 4, Davis put the Tribe back in front behind a three-set win at No. 6. The Green and Gold rookie took the opening set from Simon Bergeron, 7-5, before the Phoenix freshman answered with a 6-2 win in the second. Davis bounced back by dropping just one game in a 6-1 triumph in the third to improve to 12-4 in dual-match action.
- Elon closed to within 3-2 behind a victory at No. 1, but the Tribe put the finishing touches on its fifth CAA win of the year with three-set wins at No. 2 and No. 5.
- Gurholt cemented the Tribe victory with a win on line two in three sets. The Tribe junior won the opening set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (2), before Elon's Sibel Tanik answered with a 6-3 win in the second. Gurholt rolled to her team-leading 23rd singles win of the year behind a 6-2 victory in the third. She is 14-3 in dual-match play, including 5-1 in the CAA.
- Stange rounded out the Tribe victory, claiming a third-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (6) over Ella Suk. The Tribe junior took the first set, 6-2, before the Elon player responded with a 6-0 win in the second. Stange upped her mark to 16-7 overall and 12-5 in dual-match action.

The Tribe returns to action when it wraps up the home portion of its schedule on Sunday, April 14, against Campbell. The match is set for a noon start time at the Mackesy Tennis Center and will mark Senior Day. W&M will honor its graduating class of
