WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – No. 68-ranked William & Mary suffered a narrow 4-3 setback to Elon at the Mackesy Tennis Center on Monday afternoon.
After dropping the doubles point, the Tribe (9-9, 1-4 CAA) rallied with three singles wins to take a 3-2 lead. Graduate students

Alexandre Leblanc (No. 1) and freshman
Oliver Hague (No. 4) notched wins to push the Tribe in front. The visiting Phoenix won the final two matches off the court to secure the league win.
How It Happened
- Elon (12-5, 3-0 CAA) opened the match by taking the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions.
- Graduate student
Satchel Benn and Hague continued their strong play at No. 2. The Tribe pair won its 10th in a row, downing Dylan Heap and Veljko Krstic in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (3). Benn and Hague are 15-5 on the year and 11-4 at No. 2.
- Duo made quick work of Ben Zipay at No. 6 to pull the Tribe even at one. He dropped just a game in each set on the way to a 6-1, 6-1 win. Duo moved to 11-4 overall and 6-2 in dual-match action.
- After Elon picked up a singles win at No. 5, Leblanc answered with a straight-sets win over Krstic at the top spot. The Tribe graduate student won the opening set , 6-2, and then outlasted his Phoenix counterpart in a second-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (1), for his 16th win of the year and eighth at No. 1.
- Hague put the Tribe in front for the first time with a three-set win at No. 4. The Tribe rookie claimed the first and third sets by 6-2 scores to down Heap, who took the second set, 6-1. Hague won his team-leading 20th match of the season and improved to 11-5 on at No. 4.
- Elon pulled out the match behind wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
