CHARLOTTE, N.C. – William & Mary women's tennis suffered a 4-0 setback at No. 52 Charlotte on Saturday afternoon.
 
How It Happened
- The 49ers (9-5) took the early lead with victories at the top two doubles positions.
- Charlotte clinched the team victory with straight-set wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5.
- Juniors Hedda Gurholt (No. 1) and Ine Stange (No. 4) jumped out to second-set leads after dropping the opening sets by narrow score lines. Their matches were abandoned with the team result decided.
- At the top singles position, Gurholt jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the second set after dropping the first to Lucia Quiterio, 7-5.
- Stange led 1-0 in the second set over Shona Nakano after the 49er player also took the first by a close 7-5 margin.
