Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision at Old Dominion

NORFOLK, Va. – Freshman Oliver Hague and sophomore Albert Hansen both picked up come-from-behind three-set victories, but William & Mary dropped a 5-2 decision at in-state rival Old Dominion on Wednesday night at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

How It Happened
- With a doubles lineup that featured a pair of nationally-ranked teams, ODU (7-1) took the initial point of the match behind victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.
- The Tribe's top doubles pair of graduate students Bill Duo and Konstantinos Raptis trailed the No. 14-ranked team in the country of Codie and Connor van Schalkwyk by a 4-3 score when the match was abandoned.
- At No. 4 singles, Hague ran his win streak to three matches with a come-from-behind, three-set win. After dropping the opening set to Aryan Saleh, the Tribe rookie battled back to take the second in a tiebreaker before winning the third-set super breaker, 10-8. He won his team-leading 12th singles match and improved to 3-1 in dual-match action.
- Hansen upped his mark to 2-0 in duals with a three-set win at No. 4. After dropping the opening set to Maxime Mareschal-Hay, he also rallied with a second-set tiebreaker win and them closed it out with a 10-6 win in the third-set super breaker. Hansen improved to 7-4 in singles this season.
- Old Dominion won the other four spots in straight sets. The Monarchs pulled out second-set tiebreaker wins at No. 1 and No. 6 to secure the team triumph over the Tribe (1-3).
