Hedda Gurholt Wraps Up Fall Season at ITA Conference Masters Championships

ROME, Ga. – William & Mary women's tennis senior Hedda Gurholt wrapped up the fall season on Friday afternoon at the ITA Conference Masters Championships.
 
Gurholt, who is the two-time reigning league player of the year, was selected as the CAA representative for the national event that featured a 30-player singles draw.
 
The Tribe senior battled with the Horizon League Individual Tournament winner Julia Marko of Youngstown State in the opening round on Thursday. The players split the opening two sets by matching 6-2 scorelines, before Marko advanced behind a 6-2 win in the decisive third set.
 
In the consolation draw on Friday, Gurohlt dropped a 7-6 (3), 6-0 match to ETSU's Daniela Rivera.
 
Up Next
The Tribe opens the dual-match season on Saturday, Feb. 1, against in-state foe Norfolk State. The contest is set for 1 p.m. at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.
