W&M enters the weekend with a 6-3 overall record and a 3-2 mark in conference play after earning an impressive 45-7 victory at North Carolina A&T last Saturday. The Tribe boasts one of the nation's top offensive attacks and ranks among the country's top 10 in total offense (448.2), rushing (252.5), third down conversion percentage (.518) and first downs (215). Defensively, the Tribe has forced at least one turnover in seven straight games and ranks third in the CAA with nine interceptions. Additionally, W&M has been dominant late in games and has allowed just three touchdowns during the fourth quarter this season.
Despite winning two of its last three games, Elon enters the weekend with a 3-6 overall record and a 2-3 mark in conference play. After scoring more than 20 points just once during its first six games, the Phoenix is averaging 33.7 points per contest during the last three weeks. Elon is led by wide receiver Chandler Brayboy, who was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after posting 309 all-purpose yards in the win against Campbell.
Saturday's game will mark the 10th meeting between W&M and Elon, as the Tribe owns a 5-4 advantage in the all-time series. Elon has won the last two matchups, including a 14-6 victory at Elon last season and a 35-31 triumph at Zable Stadium in 2022.
