10/28/2024 10:32:00 AM

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – With the William & Mary basketball seasons less than two weeks away, learn more about the enhanced fan experience at Kaplan Arena in 2024-25, including alcohol sales, a new exclusive club area, improved WIFI, parking and more.

Beer Sales Throughout Kaplan
Like it has at both Plumeri Park and Zable Stadium over the last year, William & Mary Athletics, in partnership with Aramark and the W&M Police Department, will begin alcohol sales from concessions areas inside Kaplan Arena in 2024-25. Fans will now have the opportunity to purchase beer, wine, and seltzers for consumption in their seating areas.

William & Mary will incorporate alcohol management expectations as set forth by Aramark corporate policy, which includes:

  • Alcoholic beverages will only be sold from Aramark concessions, located at on the concourse level of the arena.
  • Fans wishing to purchase OR consume alcohol must have their identification verified by RMC event staff at a wrist band station prior to purchasing at a concession stand.
  • No liquor will be available.
  • Fans wearing a wristband will be permitted to buy a maximum of two drinks at a time, with a limit of four drinks per day.
  • No unopened containers will be permitted to be sold.
  • No outside alcohol will be allowed into the venue, and no alcohol will be permitted to leave the arena.
  • Sales and distribution of alcohol will stop at the under 8-minute media timeout for men's basketball and at the end of the third quarter for women's basketball.
  • All Aramark employees that serve alcohol will be certified in an accredited alcohol service program.
  • The no-reentry policy at Kaplan Arena will remain in effect.

New Baseline Club Area
With the additional sale of alcohol throughout Kaplan Arena, Tribe Athletics presents the Baseline Club, an exclusive ticketed suite area that was formerly Precarious Pavilion. The Club features elevated seating, high-top tables, TVs, featured food, and beverages (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic).

Primarily designed to accommodate private groups of up to 100 people to enjoy Tribe basketball close to the action, fans can purchase single-game tickets to the area similar to the Touchdown Club at football. Single-game tickets are not guaranteed for every game, but when possible, single-game tickets will be made available to the public for purchase two weeks prior to tip-off.

Private group areas can be purchased by contacting James Lange, Senior Director, Sales & Service (757-221-3358) / jlange@wm.edu). Single-game tickets will be available on TribeAthletics.com or by calling the Tribe Ticket office at 757-221-3340. For more information about the Baseline Club, visit the website or submit your interest online.

All you need to do is show your Season Ticket Member ID card and you will be able to breeze through the line.

Wi-Fi Expansion at Kaplan Arena
Tribe Athletics and William & Mary Information Technology completed a Wi-Fi expansion project in Kaplan Arena in August. The project aimed to enhance the digital experience of the campus community and visitors by providing reliable and fast wireless internet access in the arena. A total of 111 wireless access points were installed in Kaplan Arena, covering the seating areas, the concourse, the locker rooms, and the offices to modernize the Wi-Fi infrastructure and amp up network capacity. Read more about the Wi-Fi enhancement at wm.edu.

Parking Enhancement
As released at the beginning of October, enhanced parking opportunities are available at Kaplan Arena this season. In an effort to increase the number and quality of parking spaces in the Kaplan Arena lot, W&M Athletics will clear the lot prior to Tribe men's basketball home games. As a result, fans must purchase single-game parking in the Pink Lot for $5 via the Passport app.
