WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The No. 15/16 William & Mary football team will square off against its first nationally ranked opponent this season when it plays at No. 24/RV Stony Brook for the Seawolves' Homecoming on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

After playing three of its last four games at home, W&M enters its CAA road contest at SBU with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in conference play. W&M currently owns one of the nation's most productive offensive attacks and ranks third in rushing (277.0), fourth in third down conversion percentage (.528), ninth in total offense (455.9), ninth in first downs (173) and 19th in scoring (33.6). The Tribe has been especially dominant with its ground game, as it has rushed for more than 350 yards in three of its last four contests. Running back
Bronson Yoder is averaging 128.0 rushing yards per game during the last five contests and currently ranks 14th nationally in rushing (105.4). Defensively, cornerback
Jalen Jones ranks first nationally in passes defended per game (2.3).
Ranked 24th in the AFCA Coaches Poll, SBU owns a 5-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in conference play. The Seawolves' lone FCS loss came against Villanova. SBU boasts one of the CAA's top passing defenses and ranks third (178.9), while it is near the bottom of the league in rushing defense (195.4). Roland Dempster leads the offense ranks first in the CAA with 114.7 rushing yards per game, while quarterback Tyler Knoop was honored as the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after passing for a career-high 387 yards with six touchdowns in SBU's 52-24 win against Towson.
Saturday's game will mark just the sixth meeting between W&M and Stony Brook, as the Tribe has won four of the five previous matchups. W&M owns a perfect 3-0 record at Stony Brook, which includes a 27-10 win in the teams' last meeting in 2022.
