Field Hockey Falls at Old Dominion

NORFOLK, Va. – William & Mary field hockey suffered a 4-0 loss at Old Dominion on Sunday afternoon.

Old Dominion (4-5) used a penalty stroke to open the scoring. The stroke call came off a penalty corner in which senior goalkeeper Maddie George made a sprawling save. Marlon de Bruijne lifted the stroke into the upper part of the cage in the third minute.

The Monarchs doubled their lead in the final two minutes of the opening half. Off a corner, the ball found its way to Nicole Fredricks on the back post and she pushed it across for the goal.

ODU added goals from Nicollete Saccomandi and Sanci Molkenboer in the fourth quarter to provide the final margin.

The Monarchs outshot the Tribe (3-4), 11-4, on the afternoon and generated five penalty corners to three for W&M. George finished with a season-high five saves in goal for W&M.
