WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women's tennis won two doubles titles and a singles draw on the final day of the 28th Tribe Invitational.
Junior
Hedda Gurholt claimed the Gold Singles Draw, while the pair of graduate student
Mila Mejic and freshman
Francesca Davis took home the Tribe Doubles Draw with two wins on Sunday. Sophomore
Yaelle Vaissaud and freshman
Parker Debnam rounded out the group, winning the All-In Doubles Draw.
Mejic and Davis opened the day with a 6-3 win over Liberty's Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Maria Turchetto. In the finals, the Tribe tandem outlasted the Penn duo of Liza Tkachenko and Gavriella Smith in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (6). Mejic and Davis went 3-0 over the two days of the invitational.
Vaissaud and Debnam topped the pair of Towson's Sania Suchinsky and W&M senior
Julia Monroe in the finals of the All-In Draw, 6-2. The Tribe duo was 2-0 at the event.
Gurholt completed her perfect weekend with a three-set win over Liberty's all-time singles wins leader in Esther Lovato. The Tribe junior won the opening set, 6-3, before Lovato rallied with a 6-4 win in the second. Gurholt claimed the title with a 10-5 victory in the third-set 10-point tiebreaker. She finished the weekend at 3-0 in singles action.

The Tribe returns to action in two weeks in two separate events. W&M travels to Annapolis, Md., to compete in the Navy Blue and Gold Invitational, Sept. 29-Oct. 1 and will also have student-athletes taking part in the ITA All-American Championships, Sept. 30-Oct. 8, in Cary, N.C.
