WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The fourth-ranked William & Mary football team will look to extend its season-opening winning streak to three games when it plays at Charleston Southern on Saturday at 4 p.m.

En route to opening its season with wins at Campbell and versus Wofford, W&M has posted impressive performances on both sides of the ball. The Tribe enters the weekend ranked 13th nationally in rushing offense (233.5) and 25th in total offense (417.0). Defensively, W&M ranks fourth nationally in total defense (233.0) and 12th in scoring defense (15.0), rushing defense (93.5) and passing defense (139.5). Additionally, the Tribe ranks second in third down defense (.150).
After opening its season with a 13-10 victory against North Greenville, Charleston Southern lost at Clemson, 66-17, last weekend. Despite the lopsided final score, CSU trailed by just a touchdown at halftime. The Buccaneers have struggled offensively this season and are averaging just 162.5 total yards per game, while the defense is allowing 485.0 yards per contest. Cornerback Leon Thomas was honored as the Big South-OVC Freshman of the Week on Monday after posting a pick-six versus Clemson.
Saturday's game will mark the first meeting between W&M and Charleston Southern. The teams are scheduled to meet again when the Buccaneers visit Williamsburg in 2025.
