STONY BROOK, NY. - William & Mary's eight-game winning streak was snapped Sunday afternoon as the Tribe fell to Stony Brook 6-2 in New York.
Lucas Carmichael knocked three hits and drew a walk in the loss.
Stony Brook struck first in the series finale, as the Seawolves scored one run on a pair of hits in the bottom of the first. After four scoreless frames, Stony Brook added on with a three-spot on three hits in the fifth. The home team then added on two in the seventh to make it a 6-0 game.
The Tribe tried to rally late in the game as the Green and Gold walked the bases loaded with one out in the eighth.
Max Winters grounded out to score Carmichael, but not further damage was done. In the ninth
Ben Williamson drew a bases loaded walk to make it 6-2 but William & Mary would leave the tying runner at the plate in the defeat.
Up Next: William & Mary will return home from the four-game road stretch to start a four-game homestand beginning Tuesday evening. The Tribe will take on VCU Tuesday before welcoming in Elon for a big CAA series at Plumeri Park.
