RICHMOND, Va. - William & Mary women's golf graduate student Sarah Houle and baseball graduate student Cole Ragone were honored by the Colonial Athletic Association as Scholar-Athlete of the Year finalists. 
 
The CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year program recognizes one male and one female honoree from each of the 13 league institutions, and from those institutional Scholar-Athletes of the Year, selects one Male and one Female CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.  For the 2022-23 academic year, the winners are Hofstra men's soccer player Hendrik Hebbeker and Elon's women's track and field athlete Madison George.
 
Houle wrapped up her career at William & Mary over the weekend, finishing as the program's all-time leader in stroke average at 75.87. She also ranks in the top 10 in school history in career rounds of par or better (2nd), winning % (3rd), top 10s (4th), top 5s (5th), rounds played (8th), and wins (9th). This season, Houle posted a stroke average of 75.79, which led the team and ranked ninth on the school's single-season list. She recorded three top-5 performances and four top-10s in 2022-23.
 
Houle earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting last May and is enrolled in the MBA program at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business. She is a four-time W&M Provost Award winner and was named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll each of her seasons on campus.
 
Ragone was an All-CAA First Team selection last season. He led the Tribe with 10 home runs and 47 RBI. He finished in the top-10 in the CAA in slugging, RBI, and home runs. This season, Ragone ranks second on the team with five home runs and third with 28 RBI.
 
Ragone earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics last May. A CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection each of the last two years, he is working on his master's degree in business analytics.
