TRIBE NOTES

 • The Matchup
William & Mary meets the Lancers of Longwood on Sunday afternoon at Kaplan Arena at 2 p.m. The Tribe return after a week-plus hiatus due to final exams. The game will be broadcast on FloHoops.

• The Opponent
Longwood enters Sunday's meeting after falling at Duquesne on Thursday. The Lancers were competitive in the final three quarters of the game in Pittsburgh, but got behind the 8-ball early, trailing 24-5 after the first quarter. The Lancers dropped the game 89-69 to fall to 2-7.

• Last Time Out
The Tribe led at halftime for the sixth time this season but saw that lead slip away against James Madison on Dec. 7. The Tribe was crippled by a couple of cold shooting stretches, eventually falling 75-56. Bella Nascimento led the way with 12 points.

•Time to Recover
For the first time since December 2021 the Tribe is coming off of 9+ days of rest. Lengthy breaks in the middle of the season have been good to W&M in recent history. Going 3-1 in their last four games coming off at least nine days of rest.

• Career-Highs at the Shipyard
In total 10 different career-highs were set or tied by Tribe players at Navy in points, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals. Most notably, Anahi Cauley and Cate Carlson set career marks in points with 11 and 10 respectively. Kayla Beckwith blocked a career-high five shots, the first Tribe player with five swats since 2018.

• 60 is the Magic Number
The Tribe has held their opponents under 60 points in all three of their wins this season, while opponents have scored over 60 in all six W&M losses. The Tribe is 9-2 under Erin Dickerson Davis when holding teams below 60. While team's have had a mixed bag of success scoring in the 60s vs. W&M, opponents are 23-3 against them when scoring 70+ since 2020-21.

• 'I'll Be Taking That'
The Tribe have been forcing turnovers at a high clip recently, forcing the Midshipmen into 22 turnovers on Sunday, their third time in five games forcing 20+. For reference W&M forced 20+ TOs only four times all of last season.

• Silver Lining
A major positive that can be taken from the last outing at JMU was the Tribe's ability to taek care of the ball. W&M committed a season low nine turnovers agaisnt the Dukes. It's the Tribe's seventh time with 10 or less TOs under Erin Dickerson Davis after having no such games the year before she took over.

• The Energizer Bella
Bella Nascimento has been a constant on the floor for W&M, currently second in the CAA in minutes per game (35.1). The former Manhattan Jasper set another career-high in minutes at FIU playing 39. Despite playing a season-low 26 minutes at Navy, she has played at least 33 minutes eight of the first nine games and earned FIU Thanksgiving Classic MVP honors. She has led the Tribe in scoring the last four games.

• Formidable Opponents
William & Mary's non-conference slate was set up to be a challenging one and has proven to be. The six teams who have beaten the Tribe this year own a combined record of 46-10 as of Friday (12/15).

• Getting to the Stripe
The Tribe have shown off a knack of getting to the charity stripe so far in the non-conference. W&M ranks second in the CAA in FTA/game (20.3) and second in FTM/game (15.2). The 15 makes per game are also good for 40th in the nation.
